Abby’s Aircraft Catering was founded in 1980, and an acquisition took place in 1988 by the current owners in order to continue their extensive background in the aviation industry. Since that time, the Company has grown to develop a notable reputation through numerous divisions in the Houston area and around the globe.
“The year 2012 marks our 24th anniversary of serving the public around the world through American and International cuisine,” explains Ursula den Herder, President of Abby’s Catering. “We are the catering company upon which companies have come to rely.”
The management’s vision expanded with the genesis of a retail concept. In March 2008 the vision came to fruition with the establishment of Abby’s Deli & Take Out. The delicatessen is conveniently located on Greens Road in North Houston, in the vicinity of George Bush Intercontinental Airport and serves the general public, who have come to make Abby’s Deli & Take Out their delicatessen of choice.
The delicatessen business grew rapidly by word of mouth, and due to an increase in customers an additional 1,000 square feet of space was added in November 2010.
Thanks to our customers’ continued loyalty, the delicatessen underwent a striking transformation in November 2011. A priority of the ownership is to remain forward thinking in the efforts to implement the latest available technology in order to benefit our customers. In this way the dining experience continues to be streamlined as we serve exceptional food with quality service, at reasonable prices.
A sleek salad bar with a host of healthy options has been installed, which allows customers to pay by the pound. The options for choosing beverages changed dramatically with the addition of the Coca-Cola Freestyle® machine fountain dispenser. Now our diners can create 125 special blends of drinks that could only be longed for previously. In addition, digital menu boards communicate relevant, updated menu facts about daily specials and available items.
